Orthognathic surgery is a surgical procedure that aims to correct the bones in the jaw and facial area. This surgical procedure is applied to correct conditions such as jaw anomalies, problems in the jaw joint, incompatibilities in the jaw structure or other abnormalities in the facial bones. 


Who Is Orthognathic Surgery Performed? 

Orthognathic surgery is a surgical treatment method to correct abnormalities in the jaw and facial bones. It can usually be applied for the following conditions: 

Jaw Anomalies: Developmental disorders or incompatibilities in the lower or upper jaw, conditions that do not respond to orthodontic treatment. 

Mouth Closing Problems: Mouth closure problems caused by incompatibility of the jaws, crowded teeth or tooth incompatibilities. 

Jaw Joint Problems: Jaw joint problems include jaw mobility, pain and jaw opening-closing problems. 

Facial Asymmetry: Symmetry disorders in the face, asymmetrical appearance caused by incompatibilities in facial bones.
