What is Zirconium Veneer? How is it done?

Zirconium dental veneer is a form of dental treatment that is generally preferred to be done when conditions such as tooth decay and tooth decay occur over time on the teeth. It is divided into three as metal-supported porcelain, zirconium porcelain, full ceramic porcelain and is performed in the form of these three alternatives depending on the request or your physician's recommendation. Zirconium veneers are among the most preferred treatment methods, especially because they provide an aesthetically beautiful appearance, prolong the life of the teeth and provide durability.

Zirconium veneer is a coating method performed to cover your original teeth and achieve a healthier appearance. Before the veneer, it is specially designed for each tooth and zirconium is processed in special furnaces. Zirconium has no metal support, so it is more reliable for your teeth. It is compatible with the mouth structure and gums and can be used for many years without any problems. While providing you with a beautiful tooth structure, it provides a natural, artificial appearance.

How is it applied?

First of all, the tooth model is removed. Measurements of the teeth are taken and the cutting process is performed. The dimensions of the measured teeth are transferred to the computer environment. With the special systems of the physicians, the structure of the teeth is created with the blocks made of zirconia. Finally, the baking stage is started. After firing, porcelains of the appropriate color are added for the coating process. Exercises and final checks are performed to ensure the compatibility of the teeth before the permanent veneer. In case of any mishap, the veneer structure is re-examined. In the last stage, the personalized veneer obtained is attached to the tooth with the help of adhesives and made permanent.

What should be considered after the veneer?

In the first week after the zirconium veneer is applied, you should avoid consuming excessively cold or hot food and beverages. You should not prefer hard and sticky textured foods. You should not skip your appointments with your physician. The adaptation period of people who have veneers varies from person to person. But usually our patients say that they overcome the adaptation process within a week or ten days.

Do teeth with zirconium veneers change color over time?

Since the porcelain surface is slippery, plaque does not accumulate on the teeth. Therefore, it is not affected by foods and beverages that can have a coloring effect.

How should the teeth with zirconium coatings be cared for?

You should continue your brushing and flossing routine like your normal teeth. If you go to your dentist every 6 months, you will also prevent the problems that may occur.
